DAVIE, FL. - In a game that had seven lead changes and five ties, the Silver Storm came out victorious against Broward College on Tuesday night 76-74.
With the game tied at 74 and 4.7 seconds left on the clock, sophomore Anthony Gomes went coast-to-coast to put ASA up at the buzzer and give the Silver Storm their first conference win this season. Gomes finished with 17 points, three assists and three steals. "It's been an up-and-down season for us, but this one felt good tonight." ASA Miami Head Basketball Coach Jean Dubuisson said after the game. The win marks ASA Miami's first win over Broward in the program's history.
Redshirt freshman, Matt Maturah tied his season-high with 16 points, with 10 of those points coming in the second half.
- Braithe Ferguson recorded a season-high nine rebounds against Broward
- Brandon Stewart is averaging 9.8 PPG, while shooting 57.6 percent from the field in conference play (five games).
- Marquez Smith has recorded more steals this season (90) than any former ASA Miami player has in their career. He is currently second in the country in total steals and third in steals-per-game (4.1).
- After the win on Tuesday, ASA Miami now has eight wins this season. That tops the previous record of seven wins last season.
